I was curious on how tarot cards can be read as locations. How you personally interpret cards as places. Such as aces, minor and major arcana, etc. For example, I see 4 of Wands as an event. Almost like a family gathering or outside party. I see numerous opinions and suggestions related to possible “physical“ indicators.Judgment feels like a place of reckoning, like a courtroom or a confessional, and the World suggests a travel hub, like an airport, or any place that represents completion. These interpretations can add a tactile, relatable aspect to readings, making the Tarot feel alive and present in our physical world.I agree with so much that you’ve added here! I feel that the only difficult places to read, at least for me, are swords. They give me a secluded, negative vibe. I interpret swords as what the cards imagery reminds me of. Such as 8 of Swords, it represents feeling restrained or claustrophobic.For me, this reminds me of busy places or loud gatherings, anything that causes a sensory overload, good or bad. Existing attempts to measure Sense of Place (SOP) are open to a number of different interpretations, some of which are well established in attitude research. Attitude theory can provide a basis for conceiving of SOP as cognitive, affective and conative relationships with human environments.In this study, Sense of Place was defined as a multidimensional construct comprising: (1) beliefs about the relationship between self and place; (2) feelings toward the place; and (3) the behavioral exclusivity of the place in relation to alternatives.A number of measurement models based on attitude structure were posed as potential explanations of the scale's construct validity. Results suggested that the SOP scale measured a general Sense of Place dimension that gained expression in property owners' thoughts, feelings and behavioral commitments for their lakeshore properties.The framework organizes related place attachment concepts and thus clarifies the term. The framework may also be used to stimulate new research, investigate multidimensionality, create operational definitions for quantitative studies, guide semi-structured interviews for qualitative studies, and assist in conflict resolution for successful land-use management.

I observe each place for as many days as available.In my fifty-two years of working—forty-two of that as Eiko & Koma—I have always presented my performance as an act I am responsible for rather than a product I was asked to repeat. I learn/imagine what happened there centuries or a year ago: a forest, river clean up, protesters’ arrests. A place is NOT static.Now I am back in the Green-Wood Cemetery, creating a new site specific work in its Historical Chapel. I am observing stones. This June, I will project a video of a huge stone quarry in Sweden onto the stone wall of the chapel. Using my body as a conduit to connect stones and places, I am looking at this cemetery anew.

The first element highlights how diverse intellectual origins behind place research have inhibited a trans-disciplinary understanding of place as an object of study in environmental planning and management.The second focuses on ontological pluralism as found in attempts to make sense of place meanings by (a) fleshing out four layers of place meaning that vary in terms of tangibility, commonality, and emotionality and (b) critiquing four methodological approaches to identifying place meanings.The third looks at making sense of place-making as a way to highlight ontological and epistemic pluralism in studies of the material and social-discursive practices that create, govern, and transform places. In particular it draws attention to the way place meanings, knowledge, and practices are always situated or positioned.The fourth highlights axiological or normative pluralism as reflected in various prescriptive notions of place-making as the outcome of deliberate efforts of people to try to shape, contest, and/or otherwise govern the landscape.

Six authors-an architect, four librarians, and a professor of art history and classics-explore these questions in Library as Place: Rethinking Roles, Rethinking Space.In their essays, the authors challenge us to think about new potential for the place we call the library and underscore the growing importance of the library as a place for teaching, learning, and research in the digital age.

If I picture the Ace of Pentacles as a place, I envision beautiful garden or outdoor area -- maybe even a conservatory -- but somewhere with lush flowers, grass and a sense of happiness for the seeker.Even though it is not the 6 of Cups, I still feel like this Ace could also point to a place from childhood/the past that carries happy memories, since the pentacle is akin to the 'egg' in utero.
